Teacher & School Leader (TSL) Bronx Initiative

The Office of Teacher Recruitment and Quality (TRQ) has been awarded a five-year federal Teacher and School Leader (TSL) Bronx Human Capital Initiative to expand existing, effective programs to 230,000 historically underserved Bronx students in 372 Bronx schools, expanding efforts to:

● build a highly prepared, committed, and diverse teaching pipeline,

● retain Effective and Highly Effective teachers where our students need them most, and

● sustain quality recruitment and retention practices through comprehensive and strategic supports at the district-level.

The three-year (SY 2018-2021) awarded grant scaled and sustained its most improved efforts, such as superintendent supports, Teacher Leadership teams, and a cross-district model of supports to improve teacher and learning.
